Why use this General Weighted Average calculator?

  • Instant, accurate computation based on the official formula.
  • Perfect for scholarship, dean’s list, and honors eligibility checks.
  • Designed for colleges and universities (including the Philippines).
  • Works with both percentage and 1.00–5.00 grading scales.

You Know That?

Many schools weigh laboratory or capstone courses higher because they carry more credit units. A grade of 2.00 in a 5-unit subject can influence your GWA more than a 1.50 in a 2-unit subject.

How to Use the GWA calculator

  1. Click + Add Subject for each course.
  2. Type the Units (e.g., 3) and your Final Grade (e.g., 1.75 or 92).
  3. Press Calculate. The tool computes Σ(Grade × Units), Σ Units, and your GWA.
  4. Use Download CSV to save your entries and results.

The General Weighted Average Formula

Formula: GWA = Σ(Grade × Units) ÷ Σ(Units)

Example:

  • Subject A: 3 units × 1.75 = 5.25
  • Subject B: 2 units × 2.00 = 4.00
  • Subject C: 3 units × 1.50 = 4.50

GWA: (5.25 + 4.00 + 4.50) ÷ 8 = 1.72

Where this GWA computation is used
